Website analytics and LINE OA

How Can LINE Official Account Track Website Sources?

Design source labels, click events, and inquiry records between a website and LINE Official Account to understand which pages create useful conversations.

By AgentTech technical team

Sending visitors from a website to LINE Official Account is convenient, but normal website analytics usually sees only an outbound click. It does not automatically prove that the person added the account, sent a message, or became a qualified lead. Source tracking requires clear measurement levels, identifiable entry points, and a practical inquiry-record process.

Separate the three levels you can measure

The first level is website behavior, such as which page and button generated a LINE click. The second is activity inside LINE, such as starting a conversation. The third is the sales outcome, including qualification and meetings. GA4 can record page and click context, but an outbound click should not be reported as a new friend or inquiry.

Define separate events such as line_click, line_conversation, and qualified_inquiry, including the source and known limitations. A consistent manually recorded source field can be a reasonable starting point when deeper integration is not justified.

  • Website: source, landing page, click location, and time
  • Conversation: friend addition, message, or defined interaction
  • Business: need, qualification, meeting, and follow-up stage

Preserve page and campaign clues with identifiable entries

Create identifiable LINE entry points for priority services or campaigns, while keeping the current page and UTM context in the website event. Where supported, a prefilled message can include a need code or topic such as corporate website. Confirm the exact behavior against the current LINE features and APIs rather than assuming all context transfers automatically.

Do not create more variants than the team can maintain. Start with the homepage, core services, major landing pages, and important campaigns. Test desktop, mobile, external browsers, and cases where LINE is unavailable, providing an account ID or alternative contact route when needed.

  • Keep page path, button name, and campaign parameters in web events
  • Use practical need codes or prefilled text for major entry points
  • Provide a fallback when LINE cannot be opened

Connect conversations to inquiry and sales records

Click data alone cannot identify valuable leads. When a conversation becomes an inquiry, record its source category, original page, need, owner, and status. A form or lightweight CRM may be sufficient at low volume; evaluate webhooks, labels, and automatic CRM creation only as volume and operational value justify them.

Apply data minimization. Explain analytics and contact use in the privacy notice, restrict staff access, and define retention. Source reporting generally needs grouped acquisition and pipeline stages—not unnecessary personal details.

  • Keep source, need, owner, and progress in the inquiry record
  • Stabilize a manual workflow before automating integration
  • Limit personal data, access, and retention to what is necessary

How AgentTech builds a traceable path from website to LINE and inquiry records

AgentTech can define separate events for website clicks, LINE conversations, and qualified inquiries, then implement GA4 events, UTM retention, service-entry codes, prefilled messages, and CRM source fields according to the current toolset. If the team still uses spreadsheets, we first design a reliable manual capture process; when volume supports it, we can assess LINE webhooks, labels, automatic record creation, and dashboards. The scope distinguishes what the website can observe from what depends on LINE features or staff entry, so outbound clicks are never reported as friends or revenue.

For example, a B2B distributor may route its homepage, maintenance-service page, and campaign landing page to one LINE OA, leaving sales unable to identify origin. A practical design could assign source codes, record click events and UTMs on the site, then create an inquiry record from prefilled text or a service field when the conversation starts. Reporting keeps clicks, conversations, and qualified inquiries separate instead of forcing unreliable cross-platform identity matching.

  • Define clicks, conversations, qualified inquiries, and later stages separately
  • Implement events, UTMs, entry codes, CRM fields, and justified integrations
  • Stabilize a usable manual process before automating for scale
